This has to be one of the best books Cassandra Clare has brought to us! My heart is a shattered mess on the pages and I just have a lot feelings right now.

Let's just establish that this story is slightly based off of Mulan which is ONE OF THE BEST HEROINES EVER! And Mariko, the main character of Flame in the Mist, did not dishonor her predecessor. In fact this story has quite a few more twists in my opinion!
Overall I can't deny that this book's plot was EPIC. AND I MEAN EPIC. Maas digs deeper into her characters and gives them a bit more of a connection to readers. On top of that there was so much more diversity!
